#5 Free logo Design with AI
Ideogram, best image-gen tool for logo design
If you are just starting your business and looking for a basic logo, you no longer need to hire an expensive logo designer. Or at-least I’d you should try ideating/designing a version on your own. The journey will start from chatgpt or any other ai chat app that you prefer using. You can start with the below prompt or simply use one of the branding GPT’s like Brand GPT . Mind it that you’ll need a plus subscription to use custom GPT’s.
I need you to act as a brand identity designer. Your task is to create a comprehensive brand identity design based on the following inputs:
1. Brand Name: [Provide brand name]
2. Industry: [Specify industry or niche]
3. USP (Unique Selling Proposition): [Provide the unique value or selling point of the brand]
4. Target Audience: [Describe the ideal customer base or demographic]
5. Brand Personality: [E.g., professional, friendly, luxurious, minimalistic, bold, etc.]
6. Preferred Colors (if any): [Specify preferred color palette or themes, if any]
7. Competitor Insights: [Briefly describe competitors, if known]
8. Brand Mission or Vision: [Optional – a short statement on the brand’s goals or purpose]
Output Requirements:
Provide the following as the outputs:
1. Logo Ideas: Include multiple logo concepts (symbol/icon, wordmark, or a combination). Briefly describe the reasoning behind each concept.
2. Suggested Colors: Provide a detailed color palette with HEX codes and describe the emotional or thematic connection of the colors to the brand.
3. Suggested Tagline: Create taglines aligned with the brand’s USP and mission.
4. Typography Style: Suggest primary and secondary fonts, detailing why these fonts suit the brand’s personality.
5. Visual Identity Guidelines: Offer basic recommendations for how the brand’s identity could be applied across platforms (e.g., social media, website, print materials).
Ensure the suggestions align with the provided inputs and demonstrate how the brand identity will effectively represent the brand’s core values and attract the target audience. If you don’t like the logo idea created by ChatGPT, you can simply ask it to generate more and more ideas. Once satisfied, and if you have a plus version of ChatGPT, you can ask it to generate image of the logo idea it created and it’ll do so. But there’s another AI which I feel is the best for logo and graphic designs which contain text. It’s called Ideogram, and it has a generous free tier. A free account gets 10 credits per day and a user can generate up to 5 sets (4 each) of images per day using 10 free credits.
Simply signup to ideogram and copy the logo idea along with color suggestions to ideogram and see the magic. Sharing some cool logos from Ideogram’s public to give you an example of its capabilities.
Prompt: Design a vibrant logo for 'Mr. Tasty Singh Fries and Momos Corner'. The logo features a cheerful Sikh Man style chef wearing a traditional turban to represent Sikhism Religion, holding a tray with golden fries and steaming momos. Use bold, playful fonts for the text 'Mr. Tasty Singh', and a sleek, modern font for 'Fries and Momos Corner'. Incorporate warm, appetizing colors like red, orange, and yellow to evoke hunger and warmth. The overall design should be fun, inviting, and eye-catching, suitable for a fast-food business.

Once you like the logo design, you can use the canvas feature (paid) on ideogram to further customize your logo. If you just want to remove background of logo to use it on your website or documents then simply go to Pixelcut and upload your logo to remove background and png version of your logo for free. If you want to be more creative and want to further customize your logo in a design tool then simply go to a website like Vectorizer and get a vector/editable version of your logo by paying a small fee.
Now if you want to have more fun with this process then checkout Ubrand. It’s an experimental website and doesn’t create high quality results but have some nice features. Simply upload your logo and type a brief about your brand and it’ll create a basic brand guideline of your brand. It has tools which will automatically generate a business card, social images, presentation templates, brand story, tagline, etc based on your logo. It’s good to gather ideas and if you really like the results, you can download the generated assets by paying a small fee. Below are the results I got form Ubrand.

Image-gen Tools
While most of the people are aware of Midjourney and Dall-E, not many people talk about other tools. Here’s a list of image-gen tools I enjoy using. All of these tools have a generous free tier.
I gave this prompt to all the above tools and got below results in first attempts. These images can give you an idea of default style and detailing each of these tools offer. I believe with better prompts and few iterations, all of these tools can generate good results.
